There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting your next vacation to be a tropical island getaway, but there is much more to our planet than white sandy beaches and the warm blue tropical waters of the ocean. You need to think about something on the opposite side of things. Instead of spending your entire vacation with your toes stuck in the sand and a possible third degree sunburn, perhaps you should look towards some snowy covered mountain peaks.
Where Should You Go?
If you are not familiar with mountain vacation destinations, then you have quite a bit of information to discover. Luckily, you can find out everything that you could ever want right from the comfort of your home. The Internet is a wonderful thing, and it is loaded with information that you can use to help you determine which snow covered mountain destination will be the best for your vacation.
Start With the Best
When it comes to snow covered mountain getaways, you might as well start at the top and work your way down. Hey, this is just like skiing.
For more information on what could only be considered the best mountain vacation paradise, check out this link. http://hotels.expedia.com/resorts/vail-resorts-vail-beaver-creek/. Vail, Colorado is known all over the world as one of the best skiing destinations. You really can’t go wrong with this choice. Anything else just won’t be able to live up to the hype.
Should You Bring Skis?
If you have already spent some time skiing down some of the better known snow covered mountains on other vacations, then you can bring your skis. You most likely already have a favorite pair of snow skis anyways. Anything else may just be beneath you.
If you are knew to the slopes, then don’t worry. You will not have to bring skis with you. There is no pre-requisite that says you have to bring your own skis with you. There will be plenty of rental skis available to you and everyone that is with you.
Preparing For Your Trip
There are plenty of things that you will need to take along with you while you are on your snowy vacation. If you are from the south, then you need to make sure that you dress warmly. The snow can wind up getting very cold. It is something that you will not be used to. The best way to dress warm, is to bundle your clothing in layers. The best way to enjoy your vacation in the snow is to make sure that everyone stays nice and warm.

The “Fun Ships” of Carnival Cruise Lines have been named the best cruise value for honeymooners, according to a survey by Modern Bride magazine.
The publication’s first-ever “Travel Agent Honeymoon Survey” asked more than 3,000 honeymoon specialists their opinions regarding cruise lines, hotels, resorts, vacation destinations and various other travel-related categories. Carnival was named the best honeymoon value in the cruise category.
“The concept of value is an important part of any vacation purchase and we’re delighted that Carnival has been recognized by honeymoon professionals as a top cruise choice for newlyweds,” said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president.
Dickinson noted that today’s value-conscious couples are drawn to Carnival because of the line’s wide range of on-board amenities, including myriad dining, activity and entertainment options, extensive health and fitness facilities, spacious accommodations and full casino gambling, all at one low, all-inclusive price. Traveling to international honeymoon destinations can make things a bit more complicated. By being prepared and planning ahead will make your trip more enjoyable.
Pack light and use user-friendly luggage with wheels. Choose outfits you can mix and match and pick your favorite coat/jacket and accessorize. Accessories can give one outfit 30 different looks. On a practical note: Countries outside the US have much smaller accommodations, transportation means and storage areas. Not only is it more convenient for you to be able to lift up a small suitcase to a tiny overhead storage compartment in your train or bus, but you’ll blend in more as a local and keep a lower profile as a tourist. Even the smallest carry-ons are now being made with wheels, giving shoulders and arms a break from heavy lugging. Read more »

Do any resorts specialize in honeymoon travelers?
Many resorts are ‘couples only’ such as Sandals, Couples and Swept Away which are focused on romance. Everything is focused around the couple, king size beds, a table for two at dinner and love hammocks designed for two. Other resorts are ‘adults only’ and offering amenities such as 24 hour room service and full spa programs. The Lido Resorts are good examples of these resorts in which all the rooms are suites and the spa program or other pampering programs are part of their all-inclusive program. There are many resorts in Fiji which are ‘adults only’ and offer 11 or 12 bures, (individual bungalows), at their resorts. Typically you will find only 1 resort on an island which means only 22 to 24 guest tops! The accommodations and food are excellent offering an ideal environment for romance. Read more »

Honeymoon cruises to the Caribbean, Jamaica, Mexico and Hawaii are very popular. One of the greatest benefits to traveling by cruise is that you unpack once and you are literally a traveling resort, visiting many ports of call and all your meals (and then some) are included on board. Entertainment of all sorts: from Las Vegas style show revues to dance clubs and spas, there is always something to keep you busy all of the time. As if the entertainment on board wasn’t enough, there are ports of call beckoning you to explore. But perhaps best of all, your “hotel” room view changes almost daily.
Book early, shop around, use the Internet and/or use a travel agent who specializes in cruises. Watch for sales, two for one specials happen often (but often do not include airfare, so make sure).
A Four-Day weekday cruise may be significantly less expensive than a three-day weekend cruise.
Some cruise lines offer discounts if paying in full in advance. Read more »
